FOUNDER’S NOTE
MelAnu began with more than just a desire to create skincare, it began with an experience that stayed with me.
During my field work, I encountered women involved in shea production and saw firsthand the level of effort and care that goes into the process. One story that stood out to me was that of Aunty T, a woman whose strength and dedication reflected the reality of many others in the shea value chain.
Despite their hard work, many of these women earn very little and have limited access to opportunities that could improve their livelihoods.
That experience stayed with me.
What started as a passion for natural skincare became something more intentional—a commitment to build a brand that not only nourishes the skin but also creates meaningful impact.
MelAnu was born from that purpose.
Every product we create is rooted in care, using natural ingredients to support healthy skin and hair, while also contributing to a larger mission, empowering women and strengthening communities.
Through the SheaStrong Initiative, we are working to support women like Aunty T by creating opportunities, providing training, and building a more sustainable and inclusive shea value chain.
